Caring for our outward appearance is not wrong as long as we remember to focus on our inner thoughts and attitudes too. The prophet Jeremiah noted that women are unlikely to forget their accessories but God's people are prone to forget him.
Try this: tomorrow if you're lucky enough to sneak in a shower, praise God for the cleansing that Jesus' forgiveness provides. As you're getting dressed, thank God for the clothing you with Christ's righteousness. As you apply your makeup, thank Him for being the foundation of your life. And as you put on your earrings, thank Him for beautifying your life with the fruits of the spirit.
That was my wonderful devotion today, no I didn't write it but I wish I could take credit for it! It spoke exactly to me, even though I vedge out at home all day long and don't get ready unless I am going somewhere, I never forget my makeup, earrings {specifically} among other jewelry, clothes of course and sometimes I do get in a shower! I love how God speaks to me. I hope this says a little something to you too!
