Obedience

When I flip through my bible in the morning I just pray for God's hand to stop me to what he wants me to learn, and I have this cool bible that has inserts and lessons in it and I stopped on Obedience today. Which is something all Christians need to work on! That and patience on the Lord, but just know if you pray for patience he doesn't give that away instead he puts different situations in our life to help us LEARN patience.... Just an FYI. Okay back to obedience, this is some amazing stuff so I want to share it with you this morning, afternoon, evening, whatever time of the day it is.

Obedience

  But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices  as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:2

Obedience to God and what his Word tells us is crucial. Obedience shows God we consider him holy and worthy of honor. Obedience shows us that our Faith is Real. So how can you honor God  daily? When God says something to you in his Word, take it personally. Reading the passage on honoring your husband or taming your tongue doesn't fulfill your obligation; your actions reflect your heart toward God. Obedience honors God. Disobedience dishonors him. The practice of obedience will align your heart with God's own desires. For "just as he who called you is holy, so be holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy" {1 Peter 15-16}

Reflect & Pray
What was the last command God gave you through his Word? ~ Did you obey or disobey? ~ How did your actions honor or dishonor God?

Study
Here are some additional verses on Spiritual Life. You can look up and pray through some of these verses

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 Gods Command
James 1:22-24 Listen and Do
1 John 5:2-3 To love God is to key his commands

This is verbatim what the study says, hope you can take something away from this.

New Year

I know.. such a lame Post title.. but it literally reads: New{space/pause} Year.  So with that being said, we had a great start! We had a fun party while my sister was here visiting, ate lots of food, made the traditional crab legs, had a mini dance party with the kiddos and then we sent fireworks off into the night {really it was like a giant sparkler with mini fireworks}.

I am not going to set any "New Year Goals", I never have and people who I have met that usually do, don't ever follow through with them.. more like a "New Year Goal fail" I try to say that without sounding like a pessimist... just a realist. Anyways, I set little mini goals for myself weekly throughout the year anyways.  Okay now that we are past that! I am changing my lifestyle... I did it really well in October/November and then we switched houses and moved into another family member's house I just stopped all together {enter excuses} its really hard to keep up with a certain eating lifestyle when {your respectively} living in someone else home. They buy the groceries and if I buy groceries I am most certainly not going to label them, or turn away food that has been made for me if I don't usually eat that kind of food or who is going to say {i don't need any brownies thankyouverymuch, that would be crossing the line} but seriously. I recently have been feeling like God has laid it on my hear that my family needs to eat more natural foods, not necessarily organic because we would have to take a loan out to afford that, however more natural foods... which means excluding items such as these:

Canned Vegetables and fruits
processed cheese
frozen fish (cause who really knows how long its been  in there)
white flour
packaged lunch meat
candy
anything with un~natural dies ie: any fruit drinks (which we only stick to apple and cranberry juice anyways, or orange juice) NO KOOL AID, fruit punch.. you get the point
Milk (Unless organic, or Lactose free, which we aren't huge milk drinkers)
Sugary Cereals
Potato Chips (minus kettle chips, if it has less than 3 ingredients I'm good)

All of these will not be too hard to maintain considering we do most of these things already but when, once again, living with someone and they do eat all of these things, I will not complain.

I have had this new found love for know what I am putting into my body since 2009 when I really started watching calories and getting into fitness. I  recently decided that I would love to go to school to be a Dietitian. I am really starting to learn a lot of neat things... just by reading random books, I can't even imagine what I can learn in school! {go figure}

Nutrition Fact for the day: Brown rice is really good for you, here is why, but did you know that if you take the brown rice and pour it into a skillet (no oils or anything) and essentially "brown" the rice, till it turns a pretty golden color, it no longer turns to sugar once processed through your body it then turns into a protein! So after you brown the rice store it in a container and then go about making it the normal way and viola! Pretty cool huh!

Next think I am going to try is Chia Seeds! I guess its the new found {old Mexican} healthy thing for you! I am going to do some more research and try them out!

Early

So... It's kind of early... For me... For bedtime. I think the biggest thing right now is the fact that we are living in such close quarters with each other that it's hard to let Kate cry a little if she wants to stay up because she would wake up Faith and so I am staying up late with her and by the time she's asleep and I have picked up toys, gotten a bottle and formula ready for her morning feeding which is at like 730 and I should just force myself out of bed at that time, finish my nightly rituals and crawl into bed, it's midnight! I need some accountability for getting into bed at 1030 and getting out of bed after I feed Katie bug. That way I can go for a run, get myself some coffee and be ready for the kiddos to crawl out of bed, ya know! Enough of that! Here are a few "wordy Wednesday" pictures! Making a sign for Aunt Rebekah to visit us! My little Monkey taking a napper and a couple Christmas pictures.

Night to all!

Deprivations

Things I feel as though I am depriving myself of, sorry this isn't a very positive Christmasy feel type post.

I need sleep {as I write this it is 334am} I get so caught in what I'm doing and stay up way into the hours of the morning and then I'm exhausted the next day, which leads to eating! I mean eating, not just here and there but, everywhere! Sorry had to say it, slap happy 3am remember. Anyways, then I'm just eating horrible, so number 2 I deprive myself of nutrients. Good for you,wholesome nutrients, I've even had this little prompting {okay not so little} that we as a family need to eat healthier, change our lifestyle and go organic, I put things into my body that I know is not healthy and will not be good for me but that doesn't stop me... Riduculously disappointed in myself for this one. Then I'm crabby cause I'm not sleeping and instead I don't want to go anywhere during the day and I yell at Joshua and Faith all day and I deprive myself on these relationships and being a positive light in their life, cause honestly I'm not reflecting Jesus for them at all. These are the top 3 that I want to touch on. I will be fair to myself and realize that this season of our lives right now is stressful. Living with family, afraid we are a burden, moving things here {Georgia} from Chicago {which family packed so we don't know where anything is, but a huge blessing}
Okay; this is depressing and sad, sorry not meant to be. I will encourage myself and pray that I get to taking care of my "temple" and sleep and eat better, workout again and be sweet to my sweeties!

Can you pray for me too? Thanks!

Rachel

Changes

Sorry its been a couple of months since I have posted. My husband has been working in Georgia since about Mid September and he called me after he was there a couple of weeks and asked me to come and join him. So within a week, I notified Faith's prek, dance on hold, told my Womens Bible Study that I was leaving town for a little bit, did a million loads of laundry, packed up me, my 3 kids and our lab and jumped into my mother in law's van and headed to Georgia. It was an amazing drive. We took 2 days and stopped at some fun things along the way, got to see my kids' god-sister at College and arrived safe and sound before dusk.  After being here for a while (and from my past posts in 2009 Im sure you know how much in love with GA I am) we have done a lot of praying, found a Church that we LOVE and decided that we are going to move here. WHEW, that's the first time have said that without a percentage to follow of how sure we are. I just want to make sure that this is God's will for us and not what we want.  So we are now Georgians (not quite officially) but I'm just sayin' it all the same. The kids absolutey love it here!

With that being said, OFFICIALLY the fundraising has begun for Whitney!!! From Nov 1 thru Dec 31 the "goal" is to raise $1000 for her. I am totally new at this but I am going to do lots of research on exactly what types of things that I can do and I know that God totally provides!  Every person that donates 35$ gets an ornament for their tree with Whitney's picture on it to be a wonderful reminder to pray for her and how you helped her find her forever family.

Love to you all,
